We’re pragmatic dreamers
We went looking for practice support that was professional, “gun” at what they do, and down-to-earth. We were astounded when we couldn’t find it easily. So we’re building it.
We’re the professionals we are today because we’ve both had mentors who saw something in us before we saw it in ourselves. They’ve given us a chance and changed our lives along the way. They’ve taught us confidence, the power of relationships, and elevated our belief in what we were actually capable of.
We want to be that for our local community.
Have you ever worked with a client and silently thought “damn, they’d absolutely shine under the right conditions?” We have, and that’s exactly what we’ve built this around. We want to create the environment, the training, and the opportunities for people with barriers to employment to shine.
And to be clear, we only hire top-tier talented and committed people. The barrier to employment has never been about their talent. It has been someone giving them a chance.
Now the only limit is the sky (and us begging them to stay lovingly because they are so talented).
Feel Good Support
When you work with us, you're not just getting top quality practice support from highly trained team members. You're giving us the opportunity to onboard and train more people who deserve a chance.
That includes LGBTQIA+ folks, First Nations folks, neurodivergent folks who need a quiet workspace, single parents juggling more than most people could imagine, people who need a workplace that's locked and secure so their perpetrator can't access them.
Every time you bring us on, you're not just solving your own staffing worries. You're helping create safe, stable, meaningful work for someone who needed exactly that.
It's support that feels good because it is good. For you, for us, and for our team.
So are you wondering how we're actually doing this yet? Because we thought the same thing when we were dreaming it up. It’s been a very intentional process and we’re excited to share this side with you!
We hire our employees casually, and properly. No sham contracting here. They get all their workplace rights, insurances, and super. It's really the bare minimum, but you'd be surprised how often that's not the norm (side-eyeing all the “employers” who do this).
We've learnt that this industry relies heavily on contracting, and it blocks out a lot of good talent. That’s what inspired us to create this business because we learnt that a lot of the most talented people who would thrive in this industry couldn’t access it because they didn’t feel confident running their own business, doing their own taxes, etc. Honestly, we think that's such a responsible and self-aware understanding of what they can and can't take on. It shouldn't be the reason good talent gets shut out.
They come into our office for a minimum three hour shift and are delegated work from clients. Working from our office means they have support close by rather than being left to figure it out alone from home. It also means we allocate them all their equipment, so you don't have to worry about them downloading your data onto their own personal laptop. Eeeeep, that's something that personally worries us a lot, even though we know it's not allowed. We aim to have regular, familiar people working with you because we know continuity matters and relationships take time to build. But we also lean on a team, because ongoing support shouldn't rest on just one person's shoulders.
There's accountability on both ends, and it comes from a good place. Our staff always have our support and can reach us if they've got questions. And you can feel confident knowing they've genuinely worked the time they said they did.
We're anti "we're a work family." Not because we don't care but because we actually do care a lot. We want our staff to clock on, do meaningful work, and feel genuinely valued and respected for who they are and what they bring. And then we want them to clock off and go live their glorious, whimsical lives. No contact between shifts. Properly switch off. We need to keep ‘em well rested because we need a sustainable business, and we know that that starts with well cared for staff.
If this is sounding like an expensive business to run, you'd be right. But we're not about profits (although we’re aiming to get there - we’re trying to do both and prove you can). We're about people, passion, and purpose. And oh, we both have our own careers we do alongside this, which is honestly how we can afford to run it this way.
